Our Partners
Ellilta - Women at Risk: Founded in 1995 by now dear friend, Serawit “Cherry” Teketel Friedmeyer, Ellilta has been one of Arukah Global's primary ministry partners since our founding in 2015. They exist to walk alongside women seeking a way out of prostitution by providing safe housing, trauma-informed counseling, vocational training, education, spiritual care, and long-term support as they rebuild their lives. Their approach recognizes that true restoration requires more than rescue—it requires dignity, healing, community, and hope.
In Ethiopia's largest cities, it is estimated that approximately one in ten women are involved in prostitution, often driven there by poverty, abuse, trafficking, or the absence of other opportunities. Ellilta offers a pathway toward restoration for these women and their children by surrounding them with practical support, compassionate relationships, and the opportunity to build a new future.
Through this partnership, Arukah Global helps provide financial support, sends volunteer teams to encourage the women and staff, and walks alongside a ministry that has become like family to us.
The Child Development Training & Research Center (CDTRC) believes children are far more than society's most vulnerable members—they are among its greatest resources for lasting change.
CDTRC equips parents, teachers, social workers, churches, and community leaders through contextualized training in child development, parenting, education, trauma-informed care, child protection, and children's rights. Their vision is to see children flourish while empowering the adults who shape their lives.
Arukah Global partners closely with CDTRC because we share the conviction that when children are loved, protected, and equipped, they become powerful agents of hope within their families and communities. Together, we are investing not only in today's children, but in the future of Ethiopia.
Dale’ Elementary School: Adjacent to the CDTRC campus is an elementary school serving many families living with very limited resources. Through our partnership with CDTRC, Arukah Global helps strengthen this school by providing educational supplies, classroom resources, after-school meals, tutoring support, and opportunities for children to experience creativity, encouragement, and play.
When our teams visit Ethiopia, they spend meaningful time with these students through games, crafts, music, conversations, and shared meals. While these moments bring joy, they also communicate something even more important—that every child is seen, valued, and deeply loved.
