Over the course of the trip, people who once felt a world away become friends you genuinely miss after returning home. You'll spend time with children, teenagers eager for caring mentors, women courageously rebuilding their lives, elderly men and women, pastors, and the trusted leaders of our partner organizations who have become like family to us over the years.
Some of the moments you'll remember most won't happen during a scheduled activity. They'll happen while sharing Ethiopian coffee in the home of a family whose resilience shines despite limited resources. Around a table, through translators, you'll laugh together, exchange stories, pray for one another, and discover just how much can be communicated through genuine friendship.
Your presence matters. It encourages our partners, reminds those they serve that they are seen and deeply valued, and often changes something within your own heart as well. Many team members return home with a renewed perspective, lifelong friendships, and a deeper understanding that restoration through relationship is not simply something we believe - it's something we've experienced together.
