HOME REPAIR / BUILD FOR STRUGGLING WIDOWS AND FAMILIES
Arukah Global has relationships with local city officials, churches and ministry partners who know the needs of their own communities in Ethiopia. As it is in many developing countries, there are large portions of the community who struggle to keep a roof over their heads. Since its founding in 2015, Arukah Global has had the privilege of repairing and/or rebuilding homes for dozens of households. More often than not, these homes include elderly widows, single mothers, children, or men/women who, because of illness or injury, struggle to provide for themselves. We coordinate with our Ethiopian partners in vetting those who need help, acquiring the needed building permits/permission from the city, and purchasing materials for which we provide funds. Additionally, we hire local laborer and work alongside them in both demolition, cleaning and building. We usually work on 3 - 5 homes in a community at the same time. This opens doors for those struggling to get connected with helpful community through local government support, healthcare, church family, and help with ongoing needs. If needed, we also work to get children connected with a local school and, when possible help cover some of the necessary funds associated with education.
2024 funding objective: $4000-$4500 helps repair/rebuild 2-3 homes...depending on the scope of work.
