BELOW IS A SNAPSHOT OF SOME OF OUR WORK IN ETHIOPIA. Here is a short video of our work Our team serve trips are opportunities to get involved, hands-on with our partners, those we serve, and the communities as a whole. We have found that these trips are transformational not only for those we serve, but for each team member who joins us. 1. We help fund education/tutors for about 130 children of former prostitutes in the city of Adama. For the mothers, we conducted workshops on hygiene, STD/HIV, post-abortion care and parenting skills. We are currently in the planning phase of working with our Ethiopian partners to develop curriculum to mentor and provide trauma care to some of the sons and daughters of the former prostitutes. When viewing things from a systemic vantage point, single mothers, fatherless children, the spread of HIV, 10% of women becoming prostitutes, corruption, drug and alcohol addiction are closely tied to the lack of healthy male examples for boys on their way to manhood. So, both girls and boys must be attended to. 2. For our first school partner, Birhan Academy, we've put down 3000 square feet of gravel in order to reduce dust and divert rain water. We also built a 50 foot diameter, shaded concrete pad where the children could gather outdoors. Additionally, your partnership helped us fund and build multiple new classrooms. This is in addition to building an 8 stall latrine, installing a 16 spigot water system and building a security fence around the school. Through your generosity, we've helped increase the capacity of the school and the number of students has grown from 450 to more than 700 over the past several years. 3. In fall of 2024, we worked with the CDTRC (Child Development Training & Research Center), to engage with a newly built school designed to be an "overflow" for Pre-K children in the 1800 person town of Sendafa (where the CDTRC is located). Additionally, we continue to partner and serve with the CDTRC in various other capacities including home repair for impoverished households, providing after school meals and tutoring for impoverished children, and serving community meals for about 200 people. HERE IS A VIDEO FROM THAT DAY: vimeo.com/1024036082 Arukah Global has funded and worked on home repair/rebuild of nearly 30 dwellings that were occupied primarily by elderly women, men, and single mothers. As needed, we assist with funding medical interventions and the purchasing of new mattresses, bedding and basic supplies. HERE IS A VIDEO SHOWING HOME REPAIR/REBUILD: vimeo.com/1027051660 4. As an organization, we continue to be a strong advocate of Compassion International and encourage team members to sponsor children in Ethiopia. We have been a catalyst to seeing roughly 150 Ethiopian children sponsored. 5. Since the local Ethiopian churches known their communities best, we look for ways to partner with them as they seek to love and serve those living in their proximity. This could involved purchasing and delivering basic food items to households,, home repair/rebuild, or various other ways of practical service. 2025 will be a time for us to further engage with current Ethiopian partners and explore new initiatives. Please join us! |
Local SchoolsWith our partners, we continue to serve and support pre-K and elementary school children. This includes providing funds for uniforms, school supplies, tutors and classroom/teaching needs.

Home RepairArukah Global partners with city officials, community church/volunteers as we hire/work alongside local laborers doing home repair for widows. This holistic "outreach" helps reconnect these women to their communities and local resources that can help support them.
