Today was a day for the Arukah team women to dig deep as they taught a class on hygiene, STD/HIV and post-abortion care.
it is impossible to describe what we all experience in our time together. As our women spent several hours alone in a classroom with 19 former prostitutes, Both the Arukah and Ellilta women in the program shared personal stories of pain, stuggle and often, abuse. There were enough tears to fill a bucket...but in these moments, we could see that God showered-down more grace, healing and love than one could fathom.
I cannot express how proud I am of the women on the Arukah team. Their boldness and vulnerability was a catalyst that "gave pernission" to the Ellilta women to open their hearts to a profound level of healing.
Team member Rachel, oeganized gift bags wirh donors in the states and the team ladies distrubutted them to the giddy women of Ellilta - who they've become sisters with.
