The last few days were spent painting classrooms at our school partner Birhan Academy, and visiting children who have been sponsored by team members through Compassion International.
When Arukah first began partnering with Birhan Academy in 2015, they had about 400 students. Today, due largely to your support, the school has expanded its capacity to almost 600 of the moat impoverished children in Adama(Nazret), Ethiopia.
Team members with Compassion sponsored children, not only had the opportunity to host them for some crafts, lunch and fun at our hotel, but also had the priviledge of visiting their homes.
Crafts included those prepared ny 3rd graders at Los Paseos Elementary School in San Jose, CA...as well as from AMASE - an organizatiin in Silicon Valley that teaches music and art to children with special needs.
One cannot overstate the impact of sponsorship not only on the child, but every member of their household.
We also distributed to the Compassion International leadership, about 30 gift bags from our Bernal Church family back in San Jose, CA.
The hosts/translators from Compassion Ethiopia were nothing short of amazing.
